INTERVIEW:
STEVEN
PALING –
RESIDENT DIRECTOR
OF MAMMA MIA !
Steven Paling is the Choreographer of Strictly Anonymous and Leading
Ladies.
Steven’s career began when he left Laine Theatre Arts in 1999 and
walked straight into the production of Summer Holiday – appearing
alongside Darren Day. This role lead from one to another as he made
his West End debut in the new production of Chicago at the Adelphi
Theatre, working with such names as Chita Rivera, Maria Friedman,
Gabi Roslin and Alison Moyer.
He quickly discovered that it was the other side of production that
interested him, and his association with Chicago led him to become
the youngest worldwide associate director of the show, leading him
to direct the show in London and all over the world including Japan,
Malaysia and Italy.
He is now resident Director of ‘Mamma Mia!’ in London where it is
playing at the Prince of Wales Theatre and the International tour.
He is about to embark on directing another production of Mamma Mia!
in Cape Town, which will take him there during the Football world
cup.
Steven is a freelance Choreographer and Director and has
choreographed and staged our new act Strictly Anonymous.

light up Wentworth...
Following the success of last years ‘lunch for life’ Charity event
for Marie Curie, which was attended by amongst others Christopher
Biggins, Sue Holderness, Edwina Currie, Mark Robinson and The Red
Devils. Elegant Entertainment were invited back to provide something
different for this year’s event “Soiree pour la vie” in aid of The
Prostate Cancer Charity.
Lorna Ponti, the organizer and chairwoman of the Lunch for Life
committee insisted we mark the occasion with something new and
exciting – something that hadn’t been seen before, so, as always we
took up the gauntlet and created ‘Strictly Anonymous’..
Wentworth was again the perfect backdrop for a special evening of
famous faces, amazing entertainment and most importantly an excuse
to raise money and awareness for a fantastic charity. Amongst the
faces were Kirsty Gallagher and Rugby playing husband Paul Sampson
and the glorious Gloria Hunniford. Our very own Simon Greenhill was
the Master of Ceremonies for the evening and with his usual charm
assisted in the success of the evening!

RESIDENT DIRECTOR
STRICTLY ANONYMOUS
THE BIRTH OF A NEW SURPRISE ACT!
With the explosion of Strictly Come Dancing and now various
other dance reality spin offs, it has come as no surprise that the
corporate market was demanding an act that could emulate these
popular shows.
Strictly Anonymous is a high-energy bespoke dance act suitable for
any event and the perfect alternative to our singing waiter acts.
From Tango to street dance, quickstep to modern American jazz, cha
cha to hip hop and foxtrot to tap. This act is truly unique in its
appeal to audiences around the world.
The act is performed by an incredibly successful team of the finest
professional dancers, who have performed all over the world to
critical acclaim. Choreographed and staged by one of the west end’s
shining stars, Steven Paling and overseen by our experienced team at
Elegant Entertainment.
Strictly Anonymous is influenced by the TV show and musicals such as
Grease, Chicago and Dirty Dancing. Your guests will be astonished at
how the story and surprise keeps developing through the amazing
dance routines and before you know it they will be dancing the night
away themselves.
This unforgettable act can be performed at any point during your
event, whether you would like it during the drinks reception to wet
your guests appetite for the rest of the evenings events, during
dinner as a complete surprise or after coffee to seamlessly bridge
the meal into the band or DJ.
With music ranging from ‘Love is in the air’ to ‘I got rhythm’,
‘I’ve had the time of my life’ to ‘music to watch girls by’, with
some Santana and Jose Feliciano thrown in for good measure, it
doesn’t matter whether you’re eight or eighty, from Macclesfield or
Madrid, you will love this act.

Three Monks Costumes Go
Missing !
The boys recently performed Arias Anonymous as three monks
at the Monastery in Manchester! It was a very special night
– the venue is out of this world, having only just been
finished after several years of renovation, it does leave
you speechless when you see it’s main hall and the beauty
and size of the building! An impressive venue for any event
– especially with three monks singing Nessun Dorma.
